When McKenna Lynch shared a video with friends and family online that showed how she announced her pregnancy to her husband, she had no idea Huffington Post would pick up her story a week later.

“To be honest, I thought just my family members and a few friends would actually see the video. Right This Minute TV show called me and I was so surprised. Then the Huffington Post asked to share it too and I was shocked! I’m happy to share my love story though, it’s definitely the happiest moment of my life!”

The announcement was especially significant because of the traumatic loss of her first baby with husband Sam in 2013. Following the miscarriage, she struggled to understand why something so precious had been taken away.

McKenna says that attending the temple helped her deal with the grief and pain. One specific experience in the Celestial room brought her insight,

I knew my Heavenly Father didn’t do this to punish me. It was to learn and grow. I was assured that through my faith I would get the opportunity to be a mom. I realize that going through that trial has taught me so much about the miracle and blessing of pregnancy. It taught me compassion, and most of all it taught me that being a mother was absolutely the greatest blessing I could receive.

As a dance teacher and choreographer in Ogden, Utah, McKenna knew the best way she could express her feelings to her husband about her pregnancy would be through dance. Using cue cards and improvised choreography, McKenna danced her announcement.

I’m just so excited to me a mom. Our baby is the size of a plum. A PLUM!! I didn’t know it was possible to love something so little so much!
