The Mormon Minute recaps news that’s happening in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This week, we cover: the 2016 LDS Film Festival, new temple garment sizing for women, an English Language Center for BYU-Hawaii students, and an LDS Olympic athlete.

0:05 – LDS Film Festival

The 2016 LDS Film Festival runs this week in Orem, Utah, and will screen a record number of 18 full-length feature films. The festival will also showcase the work of latter-day saint filmmakers in the categories of short films, special features, homemade shorts, and a 24-hour filmmaking marathon. Some of the big films headlining the event include “Just Let Go,” “Christmas Eve,” and “Singing with Angels.”

0:31 – Women’s Garment Sizing

LDS Church News announced that Beehive Clothing, the company that makes the Church’s temple garments, will release new lower-waisted fitting garments internationally for women beginning this month. The changes come after feedback was submitted through a survey about temple garments in January 2015. Endowed women will also now have the option to try on the new styles before purchasing them.

0:53 – BYU-Hawaii ELC

BYU-Hawaii has opened a new English Language Center for students learning English as a second language. Over 40 percent of the student body is made up of international students, making it the university with the highest number of enrolled international students in the nation.

1:09 – LDS Olympic Runner

And an LDS athlete and BYU alumnus will compete at the 2016 Olympic games and shares his story, including keeping up with his running during his mission in this video.
