‘Friend’ Magazine Invites Children to Mail-in Footprints of Christ

512

The Friend magazine is encouraging children to stand tall for what is right and inviting them to mail in how they choose to be courageous.

Those who wish to participate are asked to send in a tracing of their footprint with how they plan on following the Savior and “standing tall” in 2016. Sister Rosemary M. Wixom, Primary general president, said,

Children have an innate desire to follow the Savior. They love Him. We are excited to see how they will respond to this new invitation to share the ways they are standing tall in following Him.

This intiative is aimed at helping children accept President Thomas S. Monson’s invitation, published in the Friend’s latest issue. “Let us learn of the Savior Jesus Christ,” Monson encourages. “Let us follow in His footsteps. Let us live by His teachings. Then we will be prepared for any service He calls us to do.”

LDS.org shares some examples of how some children are already committing to stand tall. Marshall West, age 5, says he will save money to buy toys for kids who don’t have any, and Nathan Wilkinson, 3, says he will be nicer to his brother and sister.

Submissions can be mailed to:
