5 Questions That’ll Make a Mormon’s Eye Twitch (And 5 Others We’re Anxiously Waiting To Answer)

An eye twitching at sarcastic Mormon questions

Let’s be honest, Mormons are an easy target for people looking to make fun of other people’s beliefs. We believe in some different stuff, we’re a religious minority, and we’re taught to turn the other cheek. That’s a rough combination in the world we live in. Asking sincere questions is great, but there are some we get so often (or so sarcastically) that they’re a great way to make a Mormon’s eye twitch.

1. So, how many wives do you have?

2. Where is Kolob?

3. You guys baptize dead people?!

4. You wear that magic underwear, right?

5. Oh, you’re Mormon, so you’re from Utah?

Again, if you’re sincerely wondering what our beliefs are about these questions, it’s OK to ask, but here are a few questions that we Mormons are just chomping at the bit to answer (and unlike some of the previous questions, they do have answers):

1. What do you believe about Jesus Christ?

Son of God, Savior of mankind, God of the Old Testament, one of three members of the Godhead, advocate to the Father, and personal friend.

2. What is The Book of Mormon and why do you read it?

I’ve got a couple of friends with name tags that would just love to be in on this conversation.

3. Who is Joseph Smith?

Time to sit down and have a good chat.

4. Can I see my loved ones again after we die?

It’s a question on everyone’s mind, and one we have a solid answer for.

5. Who is God, and who am I to Him?

Oh, you better believe we’d love to talk about this question.

If you’re really trying to understand the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, these are the question you’ve got to start with. These basic beliefs provide the foundation for everything else we teach, and any answers to the first five questions will be much better understood after understanding the answers to the last five.
