Everyone has a desire to connect, and the internet is the perfect tool to do so.

It’s no wonder then that the internet sensation that is the “mommy blog” gained popularity so quickly. Mommy bloggers share their lives online, and the honesty of that makes for instant connection. Not to mention the tips and tricks that they may post are pretty cool.

The appeal is especially strong with Latter-day Saint bloggers and their readers, no matter their religious beliefs. Claim to fame: visited North Korea and the West Bank and came home with only a bad sunburn and crazy pictures. Music lover. Chocolate enthusiast. Book addict. Professional writer. Mormon.

  • I also want to share a couple of my favorite LDS blogs: LDSSmile – S.M.I.L.E. stands for “spiritually minded is life eternal” – and Aspiring Mormon Women. LDS Smile has a lot of fun and funny things on the site as well as a lot of current event type blogs and some book reviews. It’s a really fun place to be! And Aspiring Mormon Women is a place for LDS women who are involved with careers, many of whom (but not all) are single adults with strong testimonies who absolutely love life and the church. It’s a great blog, too. Thanks for this list! I’ll be sure to check it out!

  • I’d love for my blog to be included in your list! I write http://www.MovieReviewMom from an LDS mom’s perspective. It costs a small fortune to take your family to the theater to see the newest flick, so I’m here to help you know which movies are “safe” for your family to watch, when it’s better to wait until something comes out on DVD, or when to skip a movie altogether because it’s just too doggone rotten. My movie reviews feature parental tips, what themes you can pull out of a movie to discuss with your family, and inspiring or funny quotes your family can get addicted to.

I enjoy reading: Mormon Women Stand is a collaborative online effort to join like-minded female members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who share a desire to make a public stand as witnesses of Jesus Christ and support The Family: A Proclamation to the World. We believe standing together reflects the divine nature and power with which LDS women are endowed to influence others for good. We unequivocally sustain the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles—commissioned by God and sustained as prophets, seers, and revelators—and support how the Lord has delegated priesthood authority to organize and administer the gospel among all of His children.
