  1. Agreed, but “none of your business” doesn’t seem like a great response.
  2. I wouldn’t be so quick to quit, but I wouldn’t rule it out either. When I’ve had similar issues in other areas I remember that others have done this before me. Why were they successful when I’m not? It could be personality. It could be other things in your life others didn’t have. You could have high expectations. It could just be you’re doing it the hard way. Personally, I’d talk to the bishop. Talk to past members who have held this calling. Ask for help. The option to ask to be released is ALWAYS there. I see no reason to make that your first option.
  3. Beats me, but I personally don't believe much is "time sensitive". People learn from other people's posts all the time.
  4. No, you are being judged on your idea of what a husband and father is. That could explain much about other things you've posted in this thread. You need help. Go see your Bishop.
  5. If you think that's what being a husband and father is, you REALLY need to talk to your Bishop.
  6. You can not be a husband and a father remotely. Period.
  7. Easy? HA! You think parenting is easy? I don't think it's going to be easy for you at all. Whether or not it's "easy" is completely irrelevant.
  8. Then it's time to put on your big boy pants and be a husband and a father.
  9. Something you probably should have considered before you got married and created a child.
  10. I had that same conversation with the missionaries during my interview. I told them I regretted the sin of fornication. I told them I regretted my offense to God. I told them I regretted my lifestyle. I told them that hindsight being 20/20, I can't say I wouldn't do it all over again because those decisions led me to the place I am today with the family I have. They understood. I don't remember what they said, but they accepted my answer. I'm willing to bet they would accept your sister's, too. She should talk to someone who can explain it. What's the worst thing that will happen? She's already not at church.
  11. Air conditioning in New England? It will be snowing again in a few weeks.
  12. I'm pretty hot. That has nothing to do with my narcissism, though.
  13. He won't talk to the bishop because he's afraid he'll be ex'd? He thinks not repenting is a better option?
  14. That's funny. I've been with my wife for a long time. I've always been a hermit. I hated guests, hated holidays, and never visited when invited. Since finding the church our house is a revolving door of visitors, I host all holidays, and visit others frequently. I can't really explain it.
  15. I have no idea what you mean by that.
  16. Mine as well. In my “new” initiative to feed my soul and remove negativity, I deleted quite a few people on social media, left a few groups, and unsubscribed from a few podcasts following this event. It was SUCH an uplifting and positive event for me as a new convert and yet so many people had negative things to say about it.
  17. Well, considering the OP made fake accounts that talked to each other to perpetuate fake issues, he isn't in left field to assume this is fake as well.
  18. That's why I have my motorcycle. I love long rides. I may take it to Pageant next month.
  19. If she's been chosen for you then you'll be brought together. Don't obsess. Date. Find your match.
  20. I know it's easier said than done, but don't let it. You, as a spirit child, are pure and perfect. You're trying to navigate this natural world in a mortal body that's acting as the clay jar would to pure water. It's very frustrating at times. I don't want to tell you not to worry about it, but I do want to point out how irrelevant most of it is. This life the length of a hair on a super-highway. I love this talk by Elder Stevenson https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2014/04/your-four-minutes?lang=eng This is your 4 minutes. Christ has the utmost confidence in your capabilities. You'll have eternity to look back on the lessons learned in this life.
  21. I'm not a counselor at all, but I know it can be difficult to tune in promptings. The natural man is imperfect. You can put crystal clear water in an earthen pot and the water IS pure but it's almost impossible to see the clarity of it in the pot. Such is understanding the Spirit when we're spoken to. I believe it's even more difficult for us because we're always looking, and hoping, for promptings. Sometimes we see them when they aren't there.
  22. Listen to his talk at the celebration last night. He spoke of the lifting of priesthood restrictions. He spoke of discrimination in and out of the church. He cautioned us to not concern ourselves about what has not been revealed about the reasons behind it. Then he said: I could be wrong, but given the location of that insertion and its context, it seems to be clearly saying "don't confuse this issue with the same-sex marriage issue."
